About the Ranch
ICROA
The early 1970's, the ranch was sold to John Urban. Urban had a vision of creating a development that would easily blend with the environment. His vision was to protect and preserve the open spaces and the creek that runs down from springs at the head of Indian Creek canyon.
Ahead of his time, Urban insisted on installing all underground utilities and plotted the roads and lots to insure allow for uninterrupted vistas and abundant common areas. Our neighborhood properties are managed and protected by our HOA Bylaws, CC&Rs and member Board of Directors.
Water is a valuable and enviable asset within Indian Creek. The spring-fed creek runs the entire length of our canyon and feeds four ponds along it course to join the Hiawatha canal. This abundant water source allows for irrigation of our hay fields. The Home Owners Association controls senior water rights dating back to 1880.
In spite of its development, Indian Creek continues to maintain the flavor and traditions of Idaho ranching. Using the water resources of our creek, we irrigate seven fields of high quality, organically grown grass/alfalfa for hay production of an average 250 tons per season.
These fields attract abundant deer and other wildlife. Co-existing with these animals is a special opportunity to feel personally attached to our rich environment. Along our fields we provide gravel trails for walking and biking. In winter these trails are groomed to provide Nordic skiing.
Our ponds provide recreation and leisure activities for every age group while also serving as habitat for fish and waterfowl alike.
Bikers utilize Indian Creek Road for quick access to the Wood River Bike Trail system or to the abundant mountain biking trails on surrounding BLM land.
All of our abundant amenities including fields, trails and paths, streams, ponds and hillside vistas are private property, maintained for the exclusive enjoyment of our property owners by the Indian Creek Ranch Homeowners Association
